Four Release Concerts at Union This October
What happens when new music leaves the studio and meets its audience for the first time? You can find out at Union this October, where four release concerts celebrate new recordings and a wide range of artistic expressions.
The month opens with KaniBalkan’s debut EP, followed later by new albums from Blåly, Daliyah and Fran De Pian. Each concert offers a different musical universe, united by a desire to explore music in a live setting. There is room for dancing, contemplation, experimentation and personal storytelling.
KaniBalkan Kicks Off October with Danceable Rhythms
- Saturday 3 October at 8 pm
October gets off to an energetic start as KaniBalkan celebrates the release of its debut EP, Live Momentum, at Union.
Over the years, the trio has brought pubs, underground bars and festivals to life with its blend of Romani music, Balkan traditions and original compositions. Their sound also draws on desert guitar and Latin American grooves, creating infectious rhythms that invite audiences to move.
The debut EP was recorded during two live performances at Teater Momentum in Odense, capturing what makes KaniBalkan special: close musical interplay, spontaneous energy and a strong connection between musicians and audience.
Featuring Gunni Torp on vocals, accordion and alto saxophone, Simon Hebeltoft Hansen on vocals and guitar, and Juan Pino on percussion, the trio brings musical traditions together across cultures and continents.

Blåly Invites You into a Nordic Soundscape
- Thursday 22 October at 7 pm
Later in the month, the pace shifts as acclaimed trio Blåly celebrates its second album, Resonans. Released on April Records on 23 October, the album can be experienced live at Union the day before its official release.
Blåly explores a captivating landscape of Nordic instrumental jazz, where hypnotic piano patterns, fluid grooves and ethereal double bass tones intertwine. Drawing on jazz, folk and Nordic musical traditions, the trio moves between melancholy, tranquillity and intensity.
The trio consists of Barbara Fiig on piano, Johan Kjær Houver on double bass and Timon Matern on drums. Their debut album, Nystalgi, was released in 2024 and was named Album of the Week by Danish radio station DR P8 Jazz, among other accolades.
The release concert offers a chance to experience the new compositions live and get your hands on the vinyl before the album’s official release.

Daliyah Explores Music, the Body and Healing
- Friday 23 October at 8 pm
The following evening, Daliyah, also known as Flavia Huarachi, invites audiences into a more experimental and immersive musical universe with Distorción — a live expansion of her debut album, released on CRRNT Records in June.
Here, music becomes a way to explore how to reconnect with oneself after experiences of violence and trauma. Blending contemporary composition, avant-garde music and reinterpretations of older folkloric traditions, Daliyah creates a sonic narrative in which vulnerability and strength coexist.
Together with an ensemble of musicians and performers, she works with voices, acoustic and electronic instruments, tape recordings, diary entries, field recordings and dance. Fragments of personal stories come together in a live experience that invites audiences to listen, feel and reflect.
Presented in collaboration with Union and CRRNT Collective, the concert demonstrates how an album release can evolve into a multidisciplinary encounter between sound, movement and storytelling.

Fran De Pian Brings Nostalgia to Life
- Thursday 29 October at 8 pm
The final release concert of the month sees Fran De Pian present the new album Nostalgiología in a live show that resonates with autumn’s melancholic atmosphere while focusing on connection and togetherness.
Together with drummer Alan Rodríguez, Fran De Pian performs the album’s songs in an intimate duo format, allowing rhythm, silence and intensity to unfold. The music is accompanied by handmade vintage images from Fran’s personal archive, while guest performers add new voices and musical textures throughout the evening.
Here, nostalgia is more than a longing for the past. It becomes a starting point for exploring what happens when memories are shared and personal stories take on new life through encounters with others.
The result is a concert experience in which music and visual storytelling merge, transforming the personal into something collective.
