Trio Candombe Fusion + Orientino Duo

The second concert night of the Festival Sonamos Latinoamerica brings together two vibrant performances where tradition and cultural exchange take center stage.

TRIO CANDOMBE FUSION

Trio Candombe Fusion is a Copenhagen-based band that explores an innovative fusion of Afro-Uruguayan Candombe with jazz, funk, and urban music. Their sound pays tribute to the rich heritage of Candombe, while also highlighting its ongoing evolution and its influence on global contemporary genres. Through rhythm and improvisation, TRIO Candombe Fusion creates a vibrant musical dialogue between tradition and modernity—celebrating the drum not only as an instrument, but as a living symbol of memory, resistance, and community.

ORIENTINO DUO

Orientino Duo is a piano, percussion, and vocal ensemble uniting musical traditions from Latin America and the Middle East. Their collaboration centers on a repertoire that bridges these cultures through rhythm, song, and improvisation. The duo features Chilean-Swedish concert pianist and singer Tania Naranjo and Syrian-Swedish darbuka player and vocalist Bader Debs. Their program includes interpretations of repertoire associated with Fairuz, Abdel Halim Hafez, Violeta Parra, Mercedes Sosa, and Tom Jobim, alongside original compositions.
