Jon Sensmeier ¦ Vinterjazz in Union
Jon Sensmeier electronically unfurls the sound of his saxophone, weaving layers of pulsating harmony and infusing them with urgent melodies that echo through simmering textures.
His solo-project places his jazz language into an ambient flow and amplifies it to the sound of post-metal. Having grown up in northern Germany, Jon eventually found himself in Copenhagen, where he studied at the renowned RMC with musical icons such as Lotte Anker, Lars Greve and Espen Reinertsen.
This evening - at Vinterjazz in Union - Sensmeier presents his brand new album TELL ME WHERE YOU START AND I END, and with him on stage he has Jekabs Reders on drums and Malina Midera on synth.
