Day of the Dead: Cumbión de Muertos

We always celebrate the Day of the Dead here at Union, and 2024 is no exception. Death is a part of life. Yet we spend enormous energy resisting, fearing and repressing it. Perhaps we should embrace it a little more

We can learn from the Mexicans who celebrate the Day of the Dead every year at the beginning of November, when the living and the dead meet in the celebration of life and legacy.

Party with death

This year we mark the Day of the Dead with a huge party - a cumbión de muertos - where we pay tribute to death and celebrate life. That's why we've invited Copenhagen's best fiesta orchestra, Trypical Cumbia, to fire up a party so big that we wake the dead and take them for a spin on the dancefloor.

Our very own DJ Mescal keeps the party going behind the turntables, and he has brought a collection of the best Latino bangers of all time!

Plant trees in Central America

We have joined forces with our friends in the organization Building Communities. They manage the bar this evening with a good selection of Mexican specialties. And every time we get DKK 5 in profit, they can plant a tree in Central America as part of their work with reforestation in the region.
