Candombe DK feat. Alan Da Silva & Manu Contrera ¦ Vinterjazz in Union
The Latin American candombe culture is finally taking root in Copenhagen. This is largely thanks to the music community Candombe DK, which has delivered two sold-out concerts with special Afro-Latino rhythms as its focal point. For Vinterjazz i Union they return - this time with new musical playmates from Uruguay and Brazil.
Manuel Contrera is a pianist and composer who hails from the homeland of candombe, Uruguay, but is currently based in Barcelona. He has accompanied a wide range of artists from his homeland, as well as international artists such as David Lebon, Loli Molina and the NDR Big Band from Hamburg.
Alan Da Silva is an Afro-Argentine composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist raised in Barcelona. Inspiration comes from a wide range of genres and artists, including MPB, West Indian music, Caribbean music and soul music.
