About Poetry Unleashed
Poetry Unleashed Copenhagen started in August 2023 as an open mic event. Within three years we grew into a vibrant international community — over 50 poets based in Denmark, with origins from Australia, Indonesia, England, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Russia, Austria, Croatia, Canada, USA, Sweden, and Denmark itself. At every event we greet new poets, including artists passing through Copenhagen.
In August 2026, Poetry Unleashed released its first anthology, Copenhagen, Falling in Love All Over Again, featuring 40 poets and visual artists. Poetry Unleashed is dedicated to keeping a space where poets, authors, and spoken word performers meet their audience — a space to share dreams and worries, hope and laughter.
Every month we pick a theme, keeping it exciting for our audience. After a year at Huset, Poetry Unleashed is excited to begin a new chapter — in collaboration with the legendary Union.
