CRRNT x Union ¦ Vinterjazz in Union

CRRNT Collective presents you with and exiting line up at this year's Vinterjazz Festival in Union.

Blaume

Blaume is a duo consisting of Laura Zöschg (IT) and Mette Hommel (DK), both based in Copenhagen. They work with the flute, the voice and different electronic enhancements, and move in the realm of improvised and experimental music. The two women met in Aarhus, Denmark, where they first started playing together, and from their meetings, a beautiful friendship blossomed. The safety and curiosity are mirrored in the music they play, opening a space full of surprises, fine details, big soundscapes, and committing exploration. 

Blaume is releasing their debut EP „excess air“ on January 31st, 2025 in the form of a cassette tape and digitally on streaming platforms.

Greta Eacott

Greta Eacott is a critically acclaimed composer based in Copenhagen. She is primarily known for her boundary pushing experimental percussion works and her ‘sans-disciplinary’ approach to music composition; which incorporates spatial aesthetics, design theory and physical movements as integral elements in the musical compositions. This manifests in a unique and modern musical aesthetic which is both playful and refined, agitating and welcoming, sensual and synthetic.

For this performance, she will present Works For Percussion, and percussionists Lise Larsen and Anne Hollænder Schmidt will join her on stage.

CRRNT Ensemble

CRRNT Ensemble is the band that consists of the members of the Copenhagen collective of the same name. Eight musicians from eight different countries are connected through the city's music scene. They play each other's compositions, improvise and create together, while embracing the different backgrounds and musical voices of the collective. The result is a mix of Balkan songs, Bolivian rhythms, avant-garde jazz, groove and minimal contemporary music.

Vinterjazz in Union

The concert program in Union is part of the nationwide music festival Vinterjazz on 30 January - 23 February 2025. In Union, we invite you to a range of exciting jazz concerts, each of which in their own way reflects Union's eclectic cultural programme. In other words, you should not expect traditional jazz, but rather a journey to the global roots of jazz.

The doors open at 19:00. The concert starts at 20:00.
