Lynmaskinen ¦ Cph Jazz Festival ¦ Union

Lynmaskinen er en eksperimenterende duo med base i Københavns undergrund og med rødder i det nordsjællandske landskab.

Ved hjælp af deres instrumenter og alt muligt fra denne og andre verdener jager Ismael Nivia og Alex Opazo lyde overalt hvor de færdes, som de transformerer til soniske lyn ved hjælp af Lynmaskinen.

De har fundet inspiration i forskellige musiktraditioner og genrer fra deres hjemlande (Colombia og Chile) i shamanistisk/folkemusik og i den afrikanske musikarv i Latinamerika. Især er de inspirerede af Spiritual Jazz, hvor musikken har en filosofisk og mystisk overbygning. Det hele sammenbindes med moderne urbane genrer som punkrock, elektronisk, triphop, drum & bass mv.

Med Lynmaskinen er man ikke klar over, om man vil ind i en transcendental meditation, et jungleritual, et cityrave, en avantgardistisk lydinstallation eller noget helt femte.

Cph Jazz Festival 2023 i Union

I Union inviterer vi til to håndfulde med spændende koncerter, som på hver deres måde afsøger jazzens grænseområder. Du skal med andre ord ikke forvente dig traditionel jazz, men derimod en rejse ned til jazzens globale rødder.

Inden hver koncert kan du nyde et lækkert måltid mad i vores café Send Flere Krydderier, som serverer smagsoplevelser fra hele verden.

This duo produces sonic lightnings and they aim for the heart.

Lynmaskinen is an experimental duo based in Copenhagen's underground and with roots in the North Zealand landscape.

Using their instruments and everything from this and other worlds, Ismael Nivia and Alex Opazo chase sounds wherever they go, which they transform into sonic lightning with the help of the Lightning Machine.

They have found inspiration in different musical traditions and genres from their home countries (Colombia and Chile) in shamanistic/folk music and in the African musical heritage of Latin America. In particular, they are inspired by Spiritual Jazz, where the music has a philosophical and mystical superstructure. It is all combined with modern urban genres such as punk rock, electronic, trip hop, drum & bass etc.

With the Lightning Machine, you don't know whether you want to enter a transcendental meditation, a jungle ritual, a city rave, an avant-garde sound installation or something completely different.

In Union, we invite you to enjoy two handfuls of exciting concerts, which in their own way explore the borderlands of jazz. In other words, you should not expect traditional jazz, but rather a journey to the global roots of jazz.

• The doors open at 19.00. Concert start at 20:00.
