Musikkomponist, instrumentalist, producer og DJ fra Gulu, Uganda. Leo PaLayeng er en af pionererne inden for den østafrikanske musikscene, og en af fædre til genren "Acholitronix". PaLayeng er en eksponent for denne karakteristiske blanding af traditionel Luo og Acholi musik med mønstre af bwola, laraka og otole.

Lyden er en unik blanding af håndlavede instrumenter som adungu, nanga, lukeme med elektroniske beats og synthesizere. Dine føder vil med garanti bevæge sig.

Cph Jazz Festival 2023 i Union

I Union inviterer vi til to håndfulde med spændende koncerter, som på hver deres måde afsøger jazzens grænseområder. Du skal med andre ord ikke forvente dig traditionel jazz, men derimod en rejse ned til jazzens globale rødder.

Acholitronix straight from Uganda to Nørrebro.

Music composer, instrumentalist, producer and DJ from Gulu, Uganda. Leo PaLayeng is one of the pioneers of the East African music scene, and one of the fathers of the genre “Acholitronix”. PaLayeng is an exponent of this characteristic blend of traditional Luo and Acholi music with patterns of bwola, laraka and otole. 

The sound is a unique mix of hand crafted instruments like adungu, nanga, lukeme with electronic beats and synthesizers. Guaranteed to make your feet move.

In Union, we invite you to enjoy two handfuls of exciting concerts, which in their own way explore the borderlands of jazz. In other words, you should not expect traditional jazz, but rather a journey to the global roots of jazz.
