Bridging Cultures: Intercultural Dialogue Panel

Anna Lindh Foundation Danish Network Gathering

We invite you to join us for an afternoon of engaging conversation, insight, and connection at the Anna Lindh Foundation Danish Network Gathering. Hosted by Crossing Borders, head of the Danish Anna Lindh Foundation Network, this event is an opportunity to explore the vital role of intercultural dialogue in today's world.

This gathering will bring together a distinguished panel of experts who are deeply involved in the fields of human rights, conflict resolution, and cultural exchange. Through their experiences and insights, they will explore how we can bridge cultural divides and promote greater understanding in an increasingly interconnected world.

Our panel will include

  • Sarah Arnd Linder – A lecturer and independent scholar focusing on Conflict Resolution, Middle Eastern affairs, and peace advocacy, especially from a gender perspective. Sarah founded Political is Personal in 2015 to deepen the conversation around these critical topics.
  • Morten Kjaerum – An expert in international human rights law, affiliated professor at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, and former director of the Danish Institute for Human Rights. Morten brings decades of experience in intercultural communication and policy analysis.
  • Agob Yacoub – A Syrian-born activist and festival director based in Copenhagen. Agob is the founder of Syrian Doc Days and Finjan, both platforms promoting Syrian culture and advocating for the rights of refugees and marginalized communities.
  • Mu'ayyad Mehyar – Programme Coordinator at United Nations Human Rights, Mu'ayyad works on conflict resolution and intercultural dialogue, with a strong background in international human rights institutions.

Topics for discussion will include

  • The importance of intercultural dialogue in building mutual understanding and peace
  • The challenges we face in promoting cross-cultural communication and cooperation
  • Real-world examples of successful initiatives that have helped bridge cultural gaps

After the panel discussion, there will be a Q&A session, where you’ll have the chance to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers. This will be followed by closing remarks, where Garba Diallo will share upcoming opportunities for involvement with the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The event will wrap up with a final opportunity for one-on-one conversations, so don’t forget to stay and enjoy light snacks and refreshments while continuing the discussion.
